I always loved my mother’s stories, even the most unreal ones. It doesn’t matter if an account is a total lie; what matters is what we learn from it. We can change the world if each one of us turns a little bit of these fairy tales into reality, like love, trust, loyalty and millions of positive things in those stories.

I like to live in dreams; I guess life would be more beautiful this way.

In the year 1140, a war happened between two dynasties of “Welfs” and “Hohenstaufen” in Germany. There are many fairytales about this war, and one of it that I like most is this;

When the enemy was able to win the battle and sieged the castle Weinsberg, all the people sheltered in the castle.

The enemy’s commander said: “I will not kill any women nor children. All the children and women can walk out of the castle, and we won’t hurt them; and as a generosity, I will allow each woman to carry one of her most important belonging, as long as she can carry it.”

When they opened the castle’s gate, they saw each woman has her husband on her back and carrying him out of the castle. The legend of these loyal wives is a huge fairytale in the world.

If the commander would say men “instead of women” can carry their most valuable belongings with them, what do you think these men would bring out of the castle with them? LOL

    There’s an error, the real tale is:

    Every woman had “a” husband on their back.

    It was never disclosed if it was “their” husband. Some even carried 2…

    Another great story, Laleh. I’m still pondering the question you ended with. I would hope the men would carry their wives, but chances are some would not. Something to think about. LOL!
