“121st story”
A husband walked into his house and found his wife sad. When he asked the reason his wife said: “What if someone from our bedroom window, watch me.
I feel like someone could climb that tree and look through the window; I don’t like that.”
The husband got so happy to have a guiltless and honest wife, and to make her more comfortable, he cut that tree.
A few weeks later, when he came home out of his routine time, he found his wife with another man. He got so sad and moved to another town to start a new life again.
When he got to the new town, he heard someone had stolen the most expensive stone from the town’s treasure home. People said: “They searched everyone in the urban, but they haven’t been able to find the stone.”
The husband then saw a very decent looking man who walked almost on tiptoe and took each step very carefully. When he asked: “Who this person is? Why he walks like that?”
They said: “He is an honest and trustee, commissar. He walks carefully, not to hurt even an ant. He is so trustworthy which they didn’t search his house.”
The husband went to the head of the town and said: “I know who the thief is.”
Then continued: “If I was wrong, you could put me in a dungeon. The most trusted man in the town is the thief. Never trust any innocent looking. You should search his house too.”
They searched the honest man’s house and found the stone.

Sometimes, it happens that an innocent-looking man has a bad conscience: he is a thief, tyrant, despot, cheater.
Let this story teach you not to be gullible.

aleh this another wonderful cleverly crafted story of trust and insight. The towns people perception was blinded. They seem to idolizing him as pure and beyond fault or error as if he was God. They should have searched everyone’s house. Looks can be deceiving. The husband eyes were opened, he saw beyond.
Thanks for sharing. 💜💜

We have a saying in Britain – ‘once bitten, twice shy’, which means that once you have been hurt you are forever suspicious. I think that saying applies to your excellent story, Laleh!

Quite a sad lesson to learn, but it shows we need to try to keep our hearts open while also keeping an open mind. A lesson many of us have to learn the hard way. Another excellent story, Laleh.xx

Indeed, very topical and timeless. Our leaders and respected elders have generally betrayed our trust in them. Happy New Year Laleh.
