“125th story”
A farmer once said:
“I was cleaning one of the sheepcotes and saw a wolf had given birth to 4 cubs, in a warm corner, away from sheep.
The mother wolf went out of my farm and brought food for her cubs. She felt safe in my farm and knew I wouldn’t hurt her cubs and her. I just kept an eye on her so she wouldn’t put my sheep in danger, amazingly she cared not to, as an appreciation of my hospitality.
Every day I saw she brought sheep, chicken, gazelle for her cubs. Even though she saw my sheep every single day, but did look at them as a part of a family. I still had the count of every sheep and didn’t take my eyes off her.
Cubs grew up so fast, and one of the days that mother wolf was out to hunt, two of the cubs killed one of the sheep on my farm. I just waited for the mother wolf to come back and see what would her reaction be to the situation.
When The mother wolf saw what has happened, started howling and bay. Then she began to move cubs one by one out from my farm.
The next day I saw her grabbing a sheep with her teeth, without injuring it and brought it to my farm and left.
I always knew wolves as wild, ferocious, and brutal.
But I never believed If a human helps them and shelter them, they would never betray, and if any of them become ungrateful, they would compensation it fast.”
“But unfortunately, this true story doesn’t relate to many humans. Some of us are crueler than a wolf.”

I do wonder if that’s how the domestication of dogs began… except it predated by many millennia the herding of sheep.

Hmm so very true. Animals in many ways reflect more compassion and care than mortal man. God our creator/ their creator as well teaches us a lot of humbling lessons through them how we ought to be with each other. Lovely story and meaningful story as always! God bless you! Much love! ❤

🙂 This is probably the same behavior that leads herding dogs to help their human partners care for flocks. Fascinating. And, a good lesson.

I love your story and the beautiful pictures!
Since some years there are after a long time again wolfes in some areas here in Germany. And the discussions are very furious about killing or accepting them…
I love wolfes and I do not believe that they are bad and furious killers…

Being out in Nature as much as I am, I see things that go against the general belief that wild animals are vicious. What a touching story, one that proves, wild animals are extremely intelligent and they exhibit compassion and peace to those who help them. I had tears in my eyes when I read this. Thank you for sharing this amazing tale!!

A wonderful story. Though wolves are often accused of attacking sheep, birds and lemmings can make up a substantial part of their diet.

I think humans have a misunderstanding about animal behaviour. We have been taught/programmed wrongly regarding animals. I think in most cases, they become violent in self-defence. Thank you, Laleh for posting this. I enjoyed reading it.
