“150th story”

Tommy and Julie always played together in the park near their homes.

Their mothers walked the kids to the park and talked to each other while the children were playing.

Tommy always had some colorful glass marbles in his pocket and sometimes played with them on the grass.

Julie used to sit and look at them while Tommy was playing, and she wished that she could own them.

One day Julie had a pack of homemade cookies and told Tommy that she is willing to trade each with one marble.

Tommy got excited and gave ten marbles to Julie in the trade of ten cookies. Tommy secretly kept the better and bigger marbles and gave ten of the poor and smallest ones to Julie. But Julie just counted ten cookies and didn’t care about the look or size of each cookie.

That night was the happiest night of Julie’s life. She played none stop with the marbles, and when she went to sleep, she dreamed of a rainbow of marbles.

But for Tommy, it was a tough night. He didn’t enjoy the cookies because he was thinking; what if Julie kept the more significant cookies to herself? What if there were some cookies with more chocolate in them?

People who are not honest suffer more. Truthful people are more in peace.

Enjoyment in life happens when there is a sincere conscience.

  5. Well, I think, it depends on the conscience of the people that are not honest. If unhonest persons don’t have even a little bit of conscience they don’t suffer at all. 😉

  18. Ah, marbles! I used to play those in elementary school in the schoolyard during recess. So much fun and I used to beat all the boys and win their marbles. LOL 🙂

  20. Thought provoking 🙂 But dont you think in these times, honest people suffer more. However, because honest people are truthful, they are content within.

    • Yes and heaven will be for them. These days pass so fast we will die but those kind hearted will join the best level.
I agree with you, some wonderful people suffer and they don’t deserve it.❤️
