The Spiritual Old Man|پیرمردروحانی

“192nd story”

A very neat old man with long white beard and hair, walked into a small jewelry store. The owner was alone and welcomed the old man.

The only thing that the old man said, was: “I am your good angel.”

Then he sat on a chair in the store.

The owner laughed hard and said: “You do look spiritual, but I never thought you would be an angel.”

The store door got open and a decent couple walked in. They asked for a neckless that was hanging on the shop’s window.

While the owner was getting that neckless, he noticed that the lady sat on the lap of the old man.

The owner said: “Why are you sitting on that old man’s lap?”

The lady said: “What are you talking about? Are you alright? What old man?”

The couple bought the neckless and walked out of the store.

The old man said: “You are the only one who can see , or hear me. I told you that I am an angel. This happens only to uprightness people like you. Here this tissue has been brought from heaven.

Wipe your face with it and wash all your sins. From now it would be like you were born fresh, no sins in your life.”

The Jewelry owner got scared and at the same time excited. He grabbed the tissue and wiped his face carefully with tears and prayers and thanked God for this miracle.

When he woke up, his store was wiped out. The old man and the couple were a team, and took everything he had.

  1. I never thought the old man was a burglar until the end. What a beautiful story I enjoyed reading it.

  2. Few years back this gang was caught red handed. A drama and many tv programmes were made to highlight this kind of plunderes.
Am surprised that this gang has reached everywhere 😂

  8. Omg how horrible! I mean it’s a well-developed piece of flash fiction, but the plot twist though. Sadly, this story can happen in my country. Thieves nowadays have to be very creative in their modus operandi.

  9. I didn’t expect that ending but now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense. Only the blood of Christ can wash away our sins. Angels watch over us but when it comes to our sins, only God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit can deliver us. This was truly a great story but a terrible outcome for the store owner.

  14. What a simple yet beautiful story. A classic Laleh. It show, how weak and gullible we humans can be in the name of the divine. Gives me a lot to think, how religious beliefs can blind us at times, however I personally believe religious convictions are necessary. We just need to be careful that our beliefs does not make us blind.
