“114th story”
First Published: Oct.24.2019
A story by Laleh Chini:
Baram had an import & export company.
His business was doing very well. He was in his thirties and had lost most of his hair.
Baram had good taste in clothes and was a handsome single young man. He had a stern face with a frown marked on his forehead, but a kind heart. He was very generous when it came to his employees and charities.
Masa was his office reception. She was in her late twenties and always looked good. Masa was very funny and generally a happy soul, polite and kind. She always cracked some jokes and freshened up the dry and tight office environment.
Parie was Baram’s office accountant; she was in her thirties. She spent a lot on her clothes, shoes, hair, and nails. She always tried very hard to draw Baram’s attention and flirted with him. Jamil and Sabin worked in the office for all the other things, such as shipping and handling. They were both hard-working boys.
Jamil had two kids in his great marriage.
Sabin was single and had an obvious crush on Parie.
Masa was also responsible for daily letters. One of the days she opened a letter which was an invitation from the city hall.
Baram’s company was nominated for the best quality award. That was excellent news. When Masa handed the letter to Baram and congratulated him;
Parie was blushing out of happiness. It was her chance to be invited by Baram to the ceremony. She was waiting for an opportunity to be Baram’s date for years.
Baram read the letter, cracked a smile, looked at Masa, and said: “I would be delighted if you join me at the ceremony.”

Baram made a safe choice of his two female employees. But, given his small staff, he could’ve invited them all to share in his company’s achievement.

Sometimes personal charm is enough to be appreciated, but inadvisable dating at work. Other employees then feel underappreciated.

Nice story!😊❤ I believe, true beauty isn’t what pleases the eyes but what pleases the heart.❤ I guess Baram believed that too! 😄
