“60th story”
Happy Mother’s Day
First published: Oct.11.2018
Two boys in a primary school lost their pencils.
When the first boy went home, he told his mother that he lost his pencil.
His mother shouted at him and said: “How many times do I have to buy supplies for my clumsy boy. wonder how you don’t lose yourself on your way home. I’m just tired of providing for somebody who is so thankless. Get it together, stay focused.”
The next day when the first boy went to school, he didn’t have a pencil so he decided to steal one from his classmates, without them noticing.
At first, he was scared but after a while, he felt more comfortable. He stole many different supplies from other kids. Life was better for him now, and his mother didn’t have to yell at him anymore.
When the second boy went home and told his mother that he lost his pencil, his mother said: “Oh my dear, that must have been hard for you. How did you write the rest of the day?”
The second boy answered: “I had to borrow one from a classmate.”
His mother said: “That was a clever thing to do. I will pack an extra apple for you, maybe tomorrow you could share it with that kind classmate.
I think from now on you should carry two pencils with you, in case you or anyone who loses their pencils, they can borrow it from you.”
Dear friends:
You can find my new book “Soroosh” Winner of Canada Book Award, on Amazon all over the world
Loving your story, yet still wondering what happened to the first boy about the issue of stealing pencils and why did the mother treat the second boy so differently. Just thinking about it.
Oh , I see, two different boys, two different mothers, that explains my question. Thank you so much for explaining. Have a wonderful weekend my friend.
There is a saying: “Heaven could be under mother’s feet” We can easily change the world by raising great children, or opposite. Thanks sweetheart for your visit.<3
Love this great story too. Hope a lot of children have such wise moms, or a wonderful storyteller like you, Laleh!
Stories like this one are the very best way teaching children. Best wishes, Michael
❤️ Love your storytelling very much. You should connect to Ritu (butismileanyway.wordpress.com) and Jennie (jenniefitzkee.wordpress.com) two teachers who surely love to make a session for children too. Best wishes, Michael
What a beautiful allegory of kindness. As a single mom I so wish I had been more the gentler mother! Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I will buy your book.
Just out of college my first job was at a school in a small Tennessee town tutoring a group of Iranian students. Fall 1978. They were mostly from prominent diplomat families. I will never forget the stories they told me when the regimes changed. Never.
Wonderful story, beautifully written! A Mother’s Impact definitely makes a difference in the lives of our children. Our responses and actions make a direct influence through out life and challenges they will face.

A lovely story! We see two mothers, but they have totally different priorities. The first mother cares more about the pencils (materialistic loss), while the second one only cares about her child. Happy Mother Day to you and all the Mom out there ❤
💜 More Seriously though EveryOne We Share Our Mothers 👩 Body and Our Symbiotic Mutuality for Nine Months Gestation with the embryo, foetus Supporting their Mothers 👩 AutoImmune System to Assist HER!!! Thru Pregnancy; yet, We still gotta Wonder who the DumbFucks were who Designed these Bodies, The Divine, Dumb, Pleasure 🙏🏿 ☺️ 😊 🤗 🤔 Pain Principle MayBe EveryBody, The Cosmic Joke Perhaps 😂 🤣 😅 😆 😁 😄 😂
Theses two different mothers approach the same situation with drastically different outcomes. Blessings to the second mother for the grace she shows her son.
