The Orange Shoes|کفش نارنجی

“141st story”

May.07.2020

Neli was twelve when she saw an orange pair of shoes with beautiful orange flowers on a store display.

Neli stared at the orange shoes and imagined how they would look great with an orange flower skirt, and she would dance with them and look lovely.

Neli asked her mother to buy the orange shoes for her. When her mother saw the orange shoes, she said: “These shoes look ridiculous. Where can you ever wear them?”

Neli’s mother bought a pair of brown shoes for her that day.

When Neli was twenty years old, she was shopping with her boyfriend and saw a pair of orange shoes with beautiful heels. She wanted to buy the shoes, and her boyfriend said: “If you purchase black shoes, you can wear them with many different outfits.”

Neli didn’t argue that day to buy the orange shoes.

Years passed Neil’s son got married, and one day she was walking with her husband and saw another beautiful orange shoes again.

Neli insisted on buying the shoes, and her husband said: “What would our daughter-in-law think of you. You are a forty-five-year-old woman, you need to act like your age.”

When Neli became a grandmother for the first time, she bought a pair of orange shoes for her granddaughter’s birthday.

Neli said: “I always wanted orange shoes but they didn’t allow me. At least I can buy orange shoes for my granddaughter.”

On Neli’s sixtieth birthday, her son bought her a pair of orange shoes and said: “Orange shoes to bring good luck to a beautiful kind mother.”

Neli burst into tears out of happiness. She finally had a pair of orange shoes. She felt like a twelve-year-old and danced and felt good that day.

The next day she went to buy an orange skirt to match the shoes. And maybe an orange hat too.

Starting today, buy the “orange shoes” of your life. It is your life; make your innocent dreams come true.

  2. Many years ago I saw a pair of white Ballerina Shoes with big red strawberries on them. When I was on my way into the shop to buy them my friend said to me: “Awwh, don’t do that! You would look so childish, you’re a woman of nearly Thirty, not a teenage girl!” I shrugged my shoulders, and bought that shoes! They were a little too small, but I was happy… After over 45 years the strawberry shoes now came into my mind again while I was reading your wonderful story…
    Greetings – stay save!

  14. Bravo!
Years ago I read a poem that said “When I am old I shall wear purple…” I always thought, “why wait?” I love purple. I’ve been wearing it all my life, and people who don’t like it don’t have to look at it. 😉

  18. Thank you for sharing!.. I find that as I venture down life’s path, if I follow my heart with a open mind, I don’t need a great deal of luck, or even shoes… 🙂

Hope all is well in your part of the world and life is all that you wish for it to be..

Until we meet again, on Mother’s Day and every day..
May flowers always line your path
    and sunshine light your way,
    May songbirds serenade your
    every step along the way,
May a rainbow run beside you
in a sky that’s always blue,
And may happiness fill your heart
each day your whole life through.
May the sun shine all day long
Everything go right, nothing go wrong
May those you love bring love back to you
And may all the wishes you wish come true

  27. “Orange shoes reminded me an incident I had when I was nearly three years old. I along with my Mummy, Papa and a year old brother had gone for a short walk after the dinner and decided to relish an ice-cream. I wanted an “Orange” one! The juicy looking Orange but my mother said that it’s only ice not ice cream! Just have the milky white ice-cream, it has got some real cream! But adamant as I was I stick to my own ground! My Mum tried to tempt me with the white one but I didn’t give in. At the end, Papa bought the Orange one for me! 🙂 !
Although my Mum was right about the ice-cream but I still wanted it. My Papa fulfilled that little wish!
I don’t know whether my story has any reference with yours but just sort of felt like sharing it!
