A long time ago in the year of drought, the weather was very hot. There was no sign of a cloud. There was no hope for rain.

All the ponds and rivers were very dry, and everyone was sad and disappointed.

On one of those hard days, a crow found a jar with some water in it. The thirsty crow wanted to drink that water but its beak didn’t reach the water.

The crow didn’t stop trying.

” Even more difficult problems are solvable. There is always a solution for anything. If we can’t figure it out ourselves, we should ask someone else.” said the crow to itself.

The crow hid the jar and went to his friend, the pigeon, and explained his problem. The pigeon thought a lot but couldn’t think of any solution.

The crow went to his other friend the woodpecker, and told his issue. The woodpecker also couldn’t solve the complication.

The crow went to the sparrow and told the story. The sparrow said: “You should go to the smart owl. He knows the answer to everything.”

But the crow was tired and thirsty, so went back to the jar. The crow stared at the jar and tried to think.

Then he started to bring little stones and dropped them into the jar, one by one. The water started to rise to the top of the jar, and the smart crow drank the water.

We never should give up trying.
