265th story

The village of ” Dara Tofi ” of Kordistan province in the west of Iran has become a tourist attraction most recently.

Here’s the story;

Every year, at the end of winter and the beginning of spring, the storks migrated to the Dara Tofi for mating and egg-laying.

These beautiful birds were always the symbol of good luck and peace for the village, and villagers enjoyed having them from spring to fall.

The storks hunted and ate snakes, mice, rats, and insects, which was wonderful for the villagers.

The storks usually made their nest on the mulberry trees in the village, and their droppings dried these trees over the years.

The storks started building their nest on the Electric poles, and that caused tragedy for many storks each year.

To prevent more trees from becoming dry and electric shocks to the birds, the kind people of Dara Tofi started building posts and nests out of their pockets for the storks.

The storks loved the new nests, accepted them, laid their eggs, taught their chicks how to fly, and flew back to a warmer place for fall and winter. The villagers have built 120 poles with nests so far.

And are willing to make more.

But the most interesting part is that after the villagers’ generosity, the flock of storks fly a few rounds around the village to say goodbye, and probably thank them, and they do the same when they come back.
