Arab Invasion
Before the Arab invasion, Iran was ruled by a powerful dynasty called the Sasanian Empire. This empire had existed for centuries and was one of the strongest states in the world, often fighting against the Byzantine (Eastern Roman) Empire.

However, by the early 600s CE, it was weakened by years of war with Byzantium and internal political struggles.
After the death of the Prophet Muhammad in 632 CE, the emerging Muslim Arab community under the Rashidun Caliphate (the first leaders after Muhammad) began expanding beyond the Arabian Peninsula. One of their major targets became the Sasanian Empire.

Arab commanders and armies moved north from the Arabian desert into Iraqi and Persian lands. At first, the Arabs fought mainly Sasanian border forces, but over a period of about two decades, they took control of most of the Sasanian territory.
Historians identify several important battles in this period.

The Battle of Qadisiyyah was one of the key battles between the Arab Muslim armies and the Sasanian army. The Sasanians were defeated, which opened the way for Arab forces to march toward the Sasanian capital, Ctesiphon.
The Battle of Nahavand was another major defeat of the Sasanian forces and helped secure Arab control over central Iran.

The last Sasanian emperor, Yazdegerd III, fled east after the defeats but was killed near Merv around 651 CE. With his death, the remaining organized Sasanian state essentially ended.
Once Arabs controlled most of Iran, they established governors and integrated the region into the expanding Islamic Caliphate. While many cities and regions were brought under control, resistance continued for decades in some areas.
Over time, the Islamic religion spread among the Iranian population by force, killing and torture. Arabs tried to erase the Farsi language, and it was banned in public; whoever spoke Farsi would be killed or arrested.

In general, warfare in this era was violent, and coercion and force were used to convert to Islam.
And unfortunatly the history repeated and Iran was invaded by the Islamic Government, and the Iranian people are still fighting to get rid of them, and say we are not Muslim, we are Persian.
