“119th story”

I always loved my mother’s stories, even the most unreal ones. It doesn’t matter if an account is a total lie; what matters is what we learn from it. We can change the world if each one of us turns a little bit of these fairy tales into reality, like love, trust, loyalty and millions of positive things in those stories.

I like to live in dreams; I guess life would be more beautiful this way.

In the year 1140, a war happened between two dynasties of “Welfs” and “Hohenstaufen” in Germany. There are many fairytales about this war, and one of it that I like most is this;

When the enemy was able to win the battle and sieged the castle Weinsberg, all the people sheltered in the castle.

The enemy’s commander said: “I will not kill any women nor children. All the children and women can walk out of the castle, and we won’t hurt them; and as a generosity, I will allow each woman to carry one of her most important belonging, as long as she can carry it.”

When they opened the castle’s gate, they saw each woman has her husband on her back and carrying him out of the castle. The legend of these loyal wives is a huge fairytale in the world.

If the commander would say men “instead of women” can carry their most valuable belongings with them, what do you think these men would bring out of the castle with them? LOL

Thanks a million dear.🌹
I know this story, it’s delightful. And you’re right: what would the men have taken with them?
Lol, hopefully at least some of them would carry their wives.😂 thanks so much dear.❤️
And their weapons, and their food, and their wealth. Yea, pile it all atop their wives!
Let’s hope so.😂
Great post.
Appreciate your kindness.🌹
Beautiful story. I think the men would have taken every thing out but the castle’s walls.Lol
LOL, love you.
There’s an error, the real tale is:
Every woman had “a” husband on their back.
It was never disclosed if it was “their” husband. Some even carried 2…
Thank you dear for reading and sharing your comment, appreciate it.
a very nice tale, good evening Laleh

I guess the women figured that it was better to keep the man they knew rather than be forced to live with the enemy.
Or there really was true love in their hearts.😂 thank God for fiction.😂 thanks Rosaliene dear.❤️🌹
