Once a successful pediatric doctor was going to the bank to deposit the money he worked hard for.

In those days, there were no cell phones to make a phone call when you were out, you had to use public telephones.

The doctor didn’t have any change so he went to get some from the guy selling batteries and other small things in the corner of the street.

He didn’t need to buy any of those things the guy was selling.

He approached and said: “Sorry, can I get some change please, I need to make a phone call,” and showed his folding money.

The guy smiled gave the doctor a coin from a separate jar and said: “No need to pay me, just say; God bless. These coins are here for people who need to make a phone call.”

Then the doctor saw some other people taking coins from the guy’s jar and saying “God bless” and then going to the phone booth.

The doctor asked the battery seller: “Do you mind if I ask how much you make to be able to donate this much money every day for other’s phone calls?!!”

The guy smiled and said: “I make two hundred or more every day. I put twenty in a change in this jar. I’ve seen many people who’ve had to make a phone call and didn’t have a coin, so I decided to help others this way. I make good money. I have enough to help others.”

This battery seller was making a little money and donating every single day, and the doctor was making a fortune and had never done anything good for others.

The doctor thought he had to do something. The battery seller’s pure soul changed him.

From that day on, the doctor asked his in-need patients to pay him with a “God bless”.

What a great feeling and what a happy life the doctor has had since.

The doctor said: “GOD BLESS you the dearest battery seller for teaching me how rich you were and how poor I was.”

  1. what a wonderful story. 🙂

  2. Beautiful story Laleh! ❤️ The happiness we get from helping others is different from making good money or having a nice holiday. It’s deeper and more heartfelt. Sometimes very touching. This is how I’ve felt and experienced.

  3. Wonderful story and beautiful gesture. Yesterday only I was exploring my site to search your blog as I thought might have missed any story shared by you and today here it is!! God bless you and make us equally blessed by reading your motivated stories

  4. Beautiful story. Love it. A great meaning for who is truly wealthy in life.

  5. That is an absolutely beautiful moral, and helps one to feel so much less cynical.

  6. great story telling and powerful message, thanks Laleh 😉

  7. A fine story with an excellent moral

  8. God bless you laleh remarkable story I enjoyed and learned.

  9. Your story illustrates quite beautifully that true wealth is so much more than money or possessions. The two words “God Bless” are a gift that can be given and received. Thank-you for another story that reminds us of the things that matter most.

  10. Heart warming story. Thanks for sharing.

  11. I believe I will put that into practice! Instead of a type of payment or reimbursement I will ask for a God Bless You instead.

  12. What a beautiful story with great massage 😊

  13. Your stories always touch my heart <3

  14. I like your story especially because “your” God does not have a name. Therefore it can be accepted by anyone all over the world. I personally think that there is just one God, only his name differs depending on the religion. Being good for others is so much more important than fighting for “the honour of God”.

  15. Wonderful story

  16. This is beautiful, what a lovely story

  17. What a wonderful life lesson. Great story!

  18. Inspiring story.

  20. Oh my this is such a wonderful story and parable for life! It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.

  21. such a humbled man, I have often experienced that people who have very little are most generous.

  22. A lovely story, and I’m the old friendly local plumber here, generous with my time and money, always my pleasure to be of service.

  23. What a wonderful story and a great example to follow. 🌼

  24. Most people on this planet are POOR because few have been taught what truly enriches lives. Money is certainly necessary to pay essential bills; material possessions certainly accentuate a state of existence, but PURPOSE and MEANING in life creates PASSION and FULFILLMENT.

All of us have heard these words; few of us have applied them to help make our lives complete. For so many, simply surviving another day of stress and anxiety is an accomplishment. It doesn’t have to be this way!

Great story to share. Thank you.

  25. Heart touching story…
I must say, you are a very good story teller, you convey such huge messages is a very simplistic way😍❤

  26. Nice thoughts here, quite uplifting. On thing, though, don’t think 15+ tags/categories allows you to feature on WordPress. I generally don’t go much above 10 combined.

    • Thanks dear, I didn’t really understand the 15+ tags…. Could you inform me more. Appreciate it.😍

      • I read on WordPress somewhere that if you put too many tags + categories they would not put your post on general pages for new readers, though it would still be visible to your followers. This applies for 15 and over tags + categories. Too many and you become invisible. Something like that, hard to explain really – not sure I understand it myself!

      • Ohhhhh, I didn’t know. Thanks so much for letting me know. I will reduce my tags and categories. God bless 😍

  27. Hey Laleh, Namaste 🙂

Yet another enriching story to nourish and feed a human heart with all it needs to feel contented and at peace. Thank you for sharing your treasure so freely.

Hoping all is well wherever you be. Enjoy a wonderful weekend. Take care of one and all.

Love and be Loved. Namaste 🙂

  48. Love it! One fourth going forth… instead of ALL as I have been doing. Gotta pay myself. Who supports the supporter? Love that I get both sides of this story, and have been lic=vin ON both sides. Strange, how enlightenment works sometimes… always. Here’s to the reciprocal benefits of supporting myself as I move forth, paying the fourth rather than the All.
