Mary’s husband was on a mission and had to live in the Arizona desert for a while.

Mary moved to Arizona with her husband and stayed in a little house. After a while, Mary realized how much she hated that place. The heat was unbearable and everything was covered in sand.

All the local people were Aboriginals and Mexicans. Mary had to stay alone at that miserable hut, called home. Mary couldn’t take it any longer. She wanted to leave and go home to her family, even if it would cost her marriage.

Mary wrote a letter to her father explaining the sorrowful life she was having in Arizona. Her father was the smartest man she knew and she could always rely on his decisions.

Mary waited for her father to reply, then she could decide how to end this depressed situation.

Mary’s father sent a letter. His letter changed Mary’s life forever. The content of the letter was only two sentences. “Behind the prison bars, two prisoners were standing.

One looked at the dirt and the other watched the stars.”

Mary was so ashamed and decided to look at the stars from that moment. Mary became friends with the Aboriginals and Mexicans and learned much from them.

Mary was getting very good at pottery, weaving, and knitting. She learned a lot about Cactus and desert dogs.

Mary learned millions of years before this desert was an ocean.

What had changed in Mary’s life?

The desert was the same. The sand, heat, and people around Mary were all the same as when she moved there.

But it was Mary’s attitude and observation that had been changed. Thanks to Mary’s father who opened her eyes.

We should all guide our children to change their perspective positively on life.
