“231st story”
Once upon a time in a jungle far away, lived a monkey. The monkey of our story was the barber of the jungle.
To make more money and be powerful, the monkey killed Lion the king, and made a wig out of the lion’s mane. The monkey sold the wig to the donkey and explained how this wig would make him look more important and powerful.
The donkey wore the wig and scared the animals, ran after them, and roared loudly.
The clever fox didn’t believe this was the true king of their jungle.
The fox thinks; it looks different, sounds ridiculous, and runs after the animals which the true lion king never did.
The fox went closer to the donkey and said: “I was about to believe you are the king of the jungle, till you opened your mouth to roar, and I heard your voice.”
People may be able to wear great clothes, look successful, and rich, and deceive others by count, but soon after they open their mouths and talk, others can easily read their true inner substance and nature.
People we see often, especially in politics, are ruining the world.
Great analogy. Particularly when thinking about our western political leaders. All looks, no substance.

So true. Several politicians (both national and international) immediately come to mind.

Sounds like a new take on C. S. Lewis’s “The Last Battle.” As long as the donkey-disguised-as-a-lion, the fake “King,” only came out at night and didn’t speak, the creatures were fooled. Then the REAL King showed up… 😉 As the Bible says, we should live in the Light. Jesus is the true Light (John 1:4-5) Accept no substitutes.

I’ve always wondered, of ordinary people ran the world, interacted, and didn’t get wound up by polititians and opinion makers, what would the world be like?……The story of the women and the secret marathon in Afghanistan, if it were up tothe men, the ordinary fathers and brothers, would a group of women going for a run be so dangerous, and not allowed?

Nailed it! Initially, I wondered why the pic was of a monkey but the headline of a donkey, now, I know why.
