“15th story”
First published; Nov.30.2017
Once again I would like to share an advisory tale from my childhood.
There was a little part of the world where many animals lived close to each other peacefully.
They lived by a pond and shared water for drinking, washing, and cooling down.

The weather was getting warmer every day, and the pond’s water was evaporating and there was no rain to replace it for months.

The situation was getting a little scary and was starting to concern the animals, so they gathered to talk about the problem. There wasn’t anything they could do but pray for rain.
Everyone was getting sad and depressed. They were losing hope.
One of the animals suggested that if one animal climbed a big hill daily and saw any cloud from far away it could jump up and down to show the good news and bring hope to others. They all agreed that bringing hope can be a huge help.

The next day, a horse climbed up the hill but there wasn’t even a tiny bit of cloud far in the sky. He came down so sadly.
Then a cow went up the next day and saw nothing.

Day after day one animal after another came down the hill without any signs of a cloud. Time was passing and the animals were on the verge of giving up.
It was the goat’s turn to climb the hill.

When he didn’t see any clouds far in the sky, he was very disappointed but decided to start jumping up and down on top of the hill and continued to the bottom hill with joy and happiness.

On the way down the goat begged God to forgive him for lying only to bring hope to others, and asked God to please send rain to not let the animals lose faith.

All the other animals started to jump up and down and became so happy. They began celebrating.
The goat was satisfied that he caused happiness. But he just passed hope, and he didn’t see any cloud.

But the weather started getting dark, they all felt the wind and white and grey clouds coming towards them.
Lots of rain poured that night and many nights after that.

What a wonderful story of hope 🙂

The power of “group mentality” and positive thinking is so beautiful portrayed in this post. Thank you, Laleh, for being such a bright light of hope for others. You live in such a mysterious country to many of us who do not live there. May you be blessed for having such a pure heart in a land that is known for so much violence. Much love to you! xo

I did not know this. It must be terribly difficult for you knowing your families are still in Iran. May Love surround them at all times and protect them! xo

It’s terrifying specially in the Corona virus situation. People are managing everything themselves, it’s like the government is completely dead. So sad.🌹

Yes, people are managing, Laleh. I’ve completely stopped watching the news (have for a long time) and refuse, just refuse to get dragged into the Corona virus panic media is creating. You are also correct in saying government does not seem to care. So so sad indeed!!

What an inspiring and motivational story of hope! It leads me to think about what just happened in your country. Do you think there’s now hope for more democratic reforms or would things still stay the same?

These shows will not change anything for people. The evil government just plays with people and the world. But of course world is benefiting, by buying cheap oil because of sanctions. Government becomes rich and people poor.
Shame on USA.

I thought the death of an autocratic president was a window for a new, progressive leadership to take over. Oh well, still hoping for better state of affairs for your people.

Even when we don’t control our destiny, hope can exist if we want to believe. Nice thought.
