Love In Silence|عشق در سکوت

200th story

First published: Aug.11.2022

On Patrick’s way to work, was a flower shop.

And every day he passed the flower shop twice, when going to work and then when returning home.

Patrick couldn’t ignore the beauty of the girl who was working at the flower shop.

She was very attractive, and every time he looked at her, he forgot his tiredness from work and life.

Patrick never dared to step into the flower shop, until Mother’s Day. He walked into the shop and said: “Hello.”

She shook her head, smiled, and wrote something in her notebook, then showed her note to Patrick.

“Please choose your flowers.”

With confusion, Patrick pointed at some lilies, and showed with his fingers: “Ten of these.”

She made a beautiful bouquet out of them quietly, and handed it to Patrick, then wrote something again: “Fifty-six, please.”

That night Patrick couldn’t sleep at all. The girl that he was in love with was deaf.

The next day Patrick went to the flower shop again grabbed the girl’s pen and wrote in her notebook: “I want a plant named “coleus”.

She smiled and pointed to the coleus behind Patrick.

Patrick chose a pot, the prices were on the pots, and he paid and walked out.

From that day, Patrick went to the flower shop every day and they wrote all their conversations in her notebook, Patrick started with his questions about the benefits of different plants, and days after, it went as far as their personalities and hobbies. They both felt great seeing each other.

Months passed, and Patrick loved seeing her beautiful eyes and her writing brought peace into his world.

For a few days, Patrick stopped going to the flower shop. He had to think about this relationship, he had to make his decision. This couldn’t go on like this any longer.

After a week of staying away from her, Patrick walked into the flower shop. She was angry, she didn’t share her beautiful smile with Patrick.

Patrick took her pen and wrote in her notebook; “I need a very big basket of flowers for my engagement, please.”

Her face turned red and sadly wrote: “Congratulations.” then walked towards the flowers and made a beautiful basket, while tears were in her eyes, she handed Patrick the basket with her shaky hands.

Patrick had her pen ready in his hand and wrote: “Will you marry me?” and gave her the basket.

Her smile was more beautiful than all the flowers in the store.

Patrick wrote again: “In this crazy world, I would be glad to live beside you peacefully. I love it when you write your kindness on paper. We could keep our beautiful moments written in many notebooks over the years.”

It’s been a few years since they were married, and Patrick still is in love with the silence of her lips, and the voice of her eyes!

  14. I can relate to the silence idea as well for the person who loves someone but cannot easily communicate with them in a different language. But it can be successfully done as you say here.
