Sustenance/رزق و روزی

241st story

We all know that Sustenance means nourishment, fare, and daily bread.

But the true definition is way more meaningful than what we think.

When we wake up from sleep, that’s sustenance, because you got the opportunity to see another day.

When difficult days storm into our lives and we can stay patient for it to pass with hope, that’s sustenance.

When you take care of someone or something, you are doing a good deed in your life, and that’s sustenance.

When you call someone and make them feel loved, and not alone that’s sustenance.

Yes, sustenance can be contained in many kinds of good human things we do in our lives. It’s not just, food, cars, income, etc. These are material sustenance.

To me, the main sustenance is the moral, intellectual ones.

Sustenance of kindness, health, happiness, love, and having someone to care about you is the greatest sustenance.

We shouldn’t just thank God for putting food on our table but for all these uncountable sustenance in our lives.

What do you think?

  1. The word ‘Rizq’ means more than food or money and it really can’t be translated into any other language. Thanks for sharing

  2. Thank you Laleh for sharing this blessed post. Sustenance is easy to take for granted. As my mother reminds me, “every day is precious.” May we be thankful and embrace it with every sunrise.
