“137th story”

Once upon a time,
A rich man travelled on a ship with his butler. As soon as the cruise set sail, the butler started panicking. The butler cried and groaned out of fear. His nonstop grunt was bothering everyone, and the rich man didn’t know what to do about it.

One of the passengers came closer to the rich man and whispered: “If you give me permission, I know how to make your butler quiet.”

The rich man who was very annoyed by his butler said: “God bless you. Please make him silent.”
The passenger walked the butler to the deck and pushed him into the sea.
The butler went under the water tried to float and started screaming for help.

The passenger threw a rope at the butler and pulled him up into the ship.

The butler went to a corner and stayed noiseless.
The rich man asked the passenger: “What good was in what you did to my butler?”
The passenger said: “Your butler didn’t appreciate that he was safe on the ship.

When I threw him into the water, he was about to drown. Now he is grateful to be safe and will stay soundless.”

A good point, well made!
Thanks Chris dear.

Thanks lovely Eliza.
I love this story! I agree that we need to be grateful for the safety of our own homes and stay there. ❤️

Yes, I know. It’s not easy especially for men. Dariush was a kind and fair king. Thanks John.
This is such a nice story that helps understand the importance of staying patiently at home till the dark clouds of the virus sail away.
Thanks Sunith dear, appreciate your comment.
Good story and good lesson.
Thanks Betul sweetheart.
Yesterday a neighbour was groaning about being forced to stay at home for weeks now. I reminded her that she has a nice and comfortable home, warm and cold water whenever she needs it, and enough to eat and to drink. There are a lot of people in this world that don’t have all these fine things!
Have a happy Easter Holiday, dear Laleh – and stay save!
Yes it’s undrestandable that it is hard. But in this war our fathers, brothers, husbands and sons are safe and with their family. Happy Easter sweetheart.
A very good point 👌 given the current scenario! We must never stop counting our blessings, no matter what the situation is. Great piece, Laleh.
Appreciate your kind words dear. Yes it is a tough war but we are at home, comfortable and free. Happy Easter.
I wish you the same and more ❤️ happy Easter 🎉

Stay safe there! I believe we can get through it 🙂
Thanks dear, world have seen many different wars and they passed it. With or without us this will pass too. God bless dear.
So true… God bless you too 🙂

It could be the butler was too traumatise by his ordeal, or terrified of the ‘helper’, and lived in morbid fear from then on. Is that a choice, I wonder?
You are right, fear could be a cause of many bad experiences in life. I guess this fiction is just supposed to send a message for us to be grateful. Appreciate your share of thoughts.
I feel bad about my comments now. They seem wrong for the type of fiction that it is.
No never feel bad to share your thoughts. Thanks dear.🌹
Beautiful story and relevant for the times.
Thanks so much dear for your kind visit.
Spot on, Laleh! Stay safe and well <3
Happy Easter sweetheart.
A Happy Easter to you, too <3
🐣🌹😍
Amen
Thanks dear.
🙂 Easter blessings, Laleh!
Happy Easter sweetheart.
The attitude of gratitude! We are realizing that today. We used to take our liberty of roaming around freely, for granted. Today in this lockdown era, we realize the value of a small stroll, the value of sharing a meal with friends and laughing with loved ones in a gathering.
Such a true and beautiful share dear. Appreciate your kind visit.🌹
I think we are lucky to have a home to stay in and a comfortable one at that. Good story Laleh. Stay safe and stay strong. Happy Easter!🌷
Yes we are blessed. Thanks Anne sweetheart. Happy Easter 🐣 ❤️
What a profound lesson to learn.
Thanks azizam, happy Easter. 🐣 ❤️
We are on different ships, sadly. Mine doesn’t leak and has a good captain; never has my privilege been made clearer than now, here in Norway. I lack nothing, not food, money, technology, or health. My local hospital has available beds. I stay at home to make sure we all have available beds.
That’s so wonderful to hear.🌹
Another great story especially relevant for today’s confusing times. I hope you and your family are all well and safe. 🙂
Thanks sweetheart. Happy Easter 🐣 ❤️
Very true, Laleh. May you stay safe and well. <3
Thanks Anna, happy Easter 🐣 ❤️
very wise advice, much easier than those who go to war … better safe than sorry!
Thanks so much Kate sweetheart.❤️

There’s no other choice.😂 us too.❤️
I know. The whole world has no choice. Thankful I have a home to stay in. So many people are homeless. I can’t imagine.
