A donkey worked very hard for an old man for years. The donkey was getting old and was no longer as fast as his young days; but, he was still loyal and tried hard to be able to do the usual daily tasks so he wouldn’t be a burden for the old man.

One day, the donkey fell into a deep well in the old man’s farm.

The old man ran towards the sound of the donkey’s cry. When he got to the well, he realized getting the donkey out would be impossible.

He said to himself: “In any case, I’ve wanted to buy a young donkey since this one is already old. And I’ve long wanted to fill in this dried well and dig a new one. I will kill two birds with one stone. I’ll fill in the well and bury the old donkey.”

The owner’s neighbours started helping him with throwing soil into the well. When the donkey realized what awaited him, he began to cry out loudly. But no one paid any attention, and he fell silent. The smart donkey stepped on the soil that people dropped into the well.

When everyone peered into the well, they saw that the donkey had shaken off and patted down with its legs all the soil that had fallen on its back. The donkey ended up on the surface and was able to jump out of the well.

Life throws us challenges, we just have to find a way to climb out of it and don’t let them burry us.

People do not only talk about successes, they talk about people who overcame their challenges or disabilities. Others are inspired when you are able to overcome your challenges.

  22. Ho provato comunque pena per quella che avrebbe potuto essere la fine dell’asino e vergogna per la disumanità del contadino che rispecchia l’indifferenza di questo mondo soprattutto oggi.
