Once upon a time,

There lived a poor boy with his mother. His mother was very sick, and she knew she would die soon. She gave her son the only thing she had, “a ring” and said: “I give this ring to you now that you are mature, so you could sell it and invest in something. My son, you should start making money and build a better life for yourself.”

The mother died. The son went to a bigger city, sold the ring for 100 coins and paid half of the money for a considerable load of onion, and brought it into his village to sell it and make some profit.

Perchance no one in his town was interested in buying any onion, and he was terrified. He went to the headman of his village and told his story.

The clever headman said: “How much is the price of your onion, per kilo?”

The son said: “Half a coin.”

The headman said: “If you give me your other 50 coins, I will fix your problem.

Change your price to 5 coins per kilo and put a limit of one kilo per person, only.”

The son gave his remaining 50 coins to the headman and left to do what the headman asked him to.

The headman was a busy man and every day many people from the village came to him for their problems, so he started a rumor. “Did you know the onions of that boy is so special? Those onions can cure many diseases? I was coughing for two months and look at me, I’m cured. My wife’s long-time back pain is gone now.”

The rumor spread to other villages nearby. That boy continued his business for years and grew rich fast; of course, he always had to pay the headman’s share.

  9. I believe you might be referring here to the problem of getting masks, ventilators, and other critical medical supplies. now at an affordable price. And yet alcohol sales runs rampant.

  13. On a side note…Onions are full of antioxidants – good for health. Eat in your salads or /and put it in your cooking.
Nice story! We all need to take advice from experts and pay the price.

  14. Many people will believe anything if it sounds too good to be true. Taking someone’s best interests account in doing so apparently does not matter.
